Mode of Action:
Paraquat Dichloride is a non-selective contact herbicide belonging to the Bipyridyl group. It disrupts the photosynthesis process by producing reactive oxygen species (ROS), which rapidly destroy plant cell membranes, causing quick desiccation and death of green plant tissues. It acts only on the plant parts it comes into contact with and is not translocated within the plant.
