Mode of Action:

Tembotrione inhibits the HPPD (4-hydroxyphenylpyruvate dioxygenase) enzyme, disrupting carotenoid formation in weeds. This causes chlorophyll bleaching and ultimately leads to weed death. Visible effects can develop within a few days.

Application Method:

Apply as a post-emergence foliar spray in maize when weeds are actively growing. Bayer recommends using Laudis with a suitable surfactant for effective weed control.

Dose:

Bayer India recommendation: 286 ml/ha in 500 litres of water/ha, with surfactant at 1,000 ml/ha.
Bayer also states in a 2025 India article that 115 ml/acre in 200 litres of water/acre can be used, with the recommended surfactant. Always follow the product label and locally approved directions.
